Screenjack collects nothing.

The app

Screenjack does not collect your data. It has no analytics, no accounts, no tracking, and no advertising. It does not talk to any server: the app is sandboxed by the operating system and has no network access of any kind. There is nothing to opt out of because nothing is gathered.

Camera and microphone

macOS and iPadOS treat an HDMI capture device as a camera, and its audio as a microphone. Those are the only permissions Screenjack asks for, and it asks at the moment each is needed: camera when a capture device first connects, microphone only once video is live and only if audio is switched on.

Both are used for exactly one thing: showing the picture and playing the sound on your Mac or iPad, in the moment. Nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted. Without network access, nothing could be.

Your settings

Preferences such as the aspect mode, volume, per-device format choices, and the last device used are stored locally on your Mac or iPad and never leave it.

Purchases

Payment is handled entirely through the App Store. We never see your payment details.

This website

screenjack.app uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and links get used. It sets a cookie so a repeat visit can be told apart from a new one, and it sends usage data (pages viewed, rough location, browser type) to Google. This applies to the website only: the app itself still collects nothing. Standard, transient server logs may also exist at our hosting provider for security and operations.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at screenjack.app/privacy with an updated effective date.
